Class Descriptions

This class focuses on how to recognize, expand, and combine core sentence elements. Starting with the non-traditional verb test to identify the main verb, we move to subjects, objects, and complements. Then after identifying the parts of speech, we practice expanding sentences through adverbs, adjectives, and phrases. Finally, we work with clauses, clause conjunction and subjunction, sentence expansion, sentence type, and sentence punctuation. While we do touch on current standard rules, these are downplayed because of the shifting nature of what is acceptable in current publication.
